Looking for a better way to manage inventory, parts, and purchasing effectively, Dennis Haefner and OPE Dealer John Herman began building software designed with dealers in mind.

Ideal tests the waters with new markets, expanding into Powersports, Marine, Ag, Trailer, Golf Cars and Home & Hearth industries.

Ideal is named Dealer’s Choice – Business Services Product at Equip Expo (formerly GIE+ Expo).

President Dennis Haefner retires and chooses Constellation Dealership Software to acquire Ideal Computer Systems and carry on the legacy of serving dealers.

Ideal is the first in the industry to launch a mobile app, reinforcing our commitment to build first in class technology solutions for dealers. Now, teams can easily perform key daily service, parts and inventory management tasks from anywhere in the dealership.

Ideal adds a QuickBooks interface, allowing dealers to ensure that all their transactions and invoices flow from the Ideal dealership management system into QuickBooks automatically.

Ideal releases first Target platform app, TargetCRM and Cloud, giving dealers modern technology tools and access on the go.

Ideal makes it easy to look up parts at nearby dealerships and to sell aging stock to other dealers with Parts Locator, an integrated parts database connecting dealers in the same area.

Ideal launches TargetWeb and Integrated Payments, the latest tools to join the Target suite of apps. With TargetWeb and TargetPay, dealers can further reduce their need for manual data entry by syncing their website and their payment processor directly with IDEAL.

Ajay Thakur

General Manager

As General Manager, Ajay Thakur leads the product vision and strategic direction for Ideal, making sure that its dealership management system continues to evolve with the needs of the industry. He focuses on driving innovation, building solutions, and providing a product experience rooted in dealer feedback. His work helps ensure Ideal remains a trusted partner for dealers navigating a rapidly changing market.

Ajay has been with Constellation Dealership Software since 2010, with experience spanning both Ideal and its sister company, Integrated Dealer Systems. He holds a degree in Computer Science and an MBA from the University of Toronto.

David Dismuke

Vice President of Ideal & c-Systems

As Vice President of Ideal and c-Systems, David Dismuke is responsible for ensuring both platforms continue to meet the evolving needs of the dealer software market. He oversees all customer service, consulting services, sales, and marketing teams, while also playing a key role in shaping the direction of the core Ideal product to ensure it continues to deliver value to dealers.

David is focused on developing and managing a high-performing field sales team that works closely with existing customers and new prospects to improve business performance and drive technology adoption. He actively collaborates with industry consultants and stakeholders to help dealers stay ahead of the curve.

Muthu Kannan

Vice President of Product Delivery

As Vice President of Product Delivery for the OPE Group, Muthu Kannan leads the charge in delivering innovative software solutions that help dealers drive growth and improve efficiency. Since joining the company in 2019 with over 20 years in experience, Muthu has played a key role in expanding the R&D team and launching new initiatives that have significantly contributed to both revenue growth and product advancement. He draws on a strong background in both startups and enterprise software companies to guide product strategy and execution.

Based in the Dallas area, Muthu describes himself as a problem-solver at heart, energized by collaboration and continuous learning. Outside of work, he enjoys picking individual stocks, reading business and technology books, and dreaming of his next trip to Banff; his idea of heaven on earth.

Tim Berman

Director, Product

Tim Berman is the Director of Product for the OPE group, where he brings nearly 20 years of experience in the equipment dealership industry. Since 2019, he’s been focused on designing innovative tools that help dealers stay competitive in a market dominated by mass merchants and online giants. With deep roots in the OPE world, having helped grow his family’s tractor dealership from a two-person operation into a successful multi-location business, Tim is passionate about building technology that truly reflects the needs of brick-and-mortar dealers.

Outside of work, Tim is a musician and songwriter with a personal library of more than 1,000 vintage hymnals and music books. He’s also a husband, father of three, and a lifelong fan of tractors and the rural lifestyle.

Clint Sanders

Sales Manager, Ideal

Clint Sanders is the Sales Manager for Ideal, focused on bringing new dealers onto the platform and expanding the OPE community. A longtime professional in the outdoor power equipment industry, Clint launched his own successful dealership in Lexington, TN in 2016 and has remained deeply engaged in helping dealers grow ever since. He’s served on the Dixie Chopper Dealer Advisory Council, contributed to the Professional Power Equipment Congress, and presented at leading industry events like Equip Expo and the Dealer Success Academy.

A proud Tennessee native, Clint brings firsthand dealer experience to every conversation and is passionate about supporting small businesses in the OPE space.
